Certificate in HAirdressing (FETAC)

The FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Hairdressing (DHXXX) is an ideal qualification for those interested in commencing a career in hairdressing or formalising their current experience. This course involves on-and-off the job intensive training in the skills required for the hairdressing industry.

Participants will receive practical experience in hairdressing salons as well as classroom tuition on essential elements of practical issues such as communication and customer service skills. On completion students will be awarded a FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Hairdressing.

Programme Objectives

The objective of this programme is to introduce learners to hairdressing as acareer, to make learners proficient in basic hairdressing skills and to equip them with the theoretical knowledge to support these skills.

Course Structure

Two years full-time, three days a week Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday 10am to 1pm practical tuition in Hairdressing salons. 2pm to 4pm in theory classroom with Infinity Business College. Holidays are scheduled on Public Holidays and each Christmas, Easter & Summer. The student timetable is available on enrolment or on request. Course fees include registration fees, study manuals & exam fees. A hairdressing kit is extra.

Fetac assessment entails a combination of assignments, skills demonstrations and exams. Please also note that independent learning outside of class time will be required to complete assigned work. Award

A FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Hairdressing is awarded to learners who successfully complete all modules. A record of achievement is awarded to students who successfully complete one module.

• A minimum Intermediate level of English
• Curriculum Vitae
• FETAC Level 4 Certificate (or equivalent)

Career Opportunities

The completion of this course provides an excellent opportunity for the successful participant to secure a recognised Irish qualification that can assist in securing employment in the hairdressing sector. Practical work experience as part of the course allows the candidate the opportunity to work in hairdressing salons.

Progression

Successful participants of this course are awarded a FETAC Level 5 Certificate and are eligible to progress to further education through Infinity Business College or other third level institutions Degree programmes. Protection for learners

Infinity Business College adheres to the Qualifications (Education & Training) Act of 1999 which addresses Protection for Learners. The Act seeks to ensure that learners have every opportunity to complete a programme leading to an award. To fulfil the requirements of this act Infinity Business College has in place a written agreement with two other providers who will allow Learners to transfer over to their programmes should Infinity Business College cease to provide the programme in question.
